Editorial Policy

Sourcing principle

Every /info page summarises a single NHS source. The source URL is shown in the page footer. We do not synthesise advice across multiple sources.

Page lifecycle

  1. Identify the NHS source for the topic.
  2. Summarise the source faithfully without editorial spin.
  3. Cite the source URL and the date the page was last checked.
  4. Publish.

Freshness watcher

We re-check each NHS source weekly via automated content-hash diff. Changes enter a review queue. Pages are reconciled before the last-checked date is bumped — last-checked is never an automatic stamp.

How we use AI

  • Reference pages (/info): 100% human-curated from NHS sources. No AI generation.
  • Personal assessment (/results): Generated by Claude (Anthropic). Bounded to:
    • Cause hypothesis from user-reported symptoms.
    • NHS-aligned action plan (GP / 111 / 999 thresholds).
    • Never diagnoses, never prescribes.
Each session is independent. We do not store assessment text.

Corrections policy

Email support@normed.app. We acknowledge within 5 working days. Corrections published within 10 working days where warranted. When we publish corrections, they appear in a public correction log at /editorial-policy/changes.

Limitations

We summarise published NHS guidance. For personal medical concerns, consult a GP, NHS 111 (call 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk), or A&E in emergencies.
